I would love to be able to create a quick, simple slideshow within the gallery for my clients to view before seeing the whole gallery. So I can better convey their story.

The main reason i keep my galleries with pictime is that they have a function where you can create a slideshow (and add music) from the images you add to gallery. It has a very high impact with clients watching images of their loved ones to music.
